Sometimes we get so focused on our own dreams we tend to have tunnel vision and not help others. I choose not to be this way. I had someone contact me recently about an artist friend he believes in and set a goal to get him a job in the art realm in 10 days. It's encouraging to have people believe in us and to goad (no pun intended) us in taking those steps to catch our dreams. He has a unique style that I am thinking would do quite well in character concepts, commercial illustration and children's books.

Joseph Cowman here. Hey thanks for the help. I really appreciate it, as we all know as artists, finding a living doing what we love is not easy & it's easy at times to consider walking away form your dream. Especially with the economy the way it is. I am very grateful to have a good paying job. It's like my wife & I always say, sometimes it's 2 steps forward, 1 step back & other times it's 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Just wanted to let people know I am grateful for the support & also grateful for my current job. I am not giving up, just taking a short term hiatus. Hope you have a great day!
It's amazing how things speak to us...heck even our own checkbooks tell us we can't do things. I just want to encourage you that no matter what your checkbook, economy, Joe Blow 5 blocks down from you says, if you believe you can leave a mark in this world with your art then by all means do so. It isn't unrealistic to go art full time, people are doing it now. Join the party!
